A Christmas Poem

Toy Escape

Late Christmas Eve, when all was still,
And the room was dark as night,
The Christmas tree lit magically;
It was a fantastic sight!

Then from around the tree trunk came,
A strange and funny sound,
As gifts began to unwrap themselves,
And toys jumped out all around.

The music box began to play,
And in a crazy trance,
The candy canes jumped off the tree
To do a silly dance.

The big stuffed bear leaped to his feet,
To see what he could see;
He rode a shiny, bright red bike
Around the Christmas tree.

The new toy kitchen started to cook,
And before you could blink an eye,
The oven door opened, and from inside
Came a tiny pizza pie.

A squirt gun squirted everything;
It knew what it was for;
By the time that it was emptied out,
A big puddle lay on the floor.

A beautiful doll with golden hair
Was searching for a friend;
A toy soldier marched up and took her hand;
They were a perfect blend.

In the bedroom were a boy and girl,
Asleep in Christmas dreams;
The soldier saluted; the doll gave a kiss;
At least that's the way it seems.

Now everything began to tire;
The toys went back in place;
But when mother woke in the morning,
You should have seen her face.

The tree was fine; the gifts were there,
Yet mother gave a roar;
She looked at her wet shoes and yelled,
"What's this puddle on my floor?"

Happydance and a gift for me...

I am so HAPPY to tell you that Miss Ellie Red Hood got the 2nd place in the British Bear Artist Awards 2009!!!

I didn´t think that she would do so well so it was a really nice surprise.

If you are going to the Hugglets Show in London in February, she will be there to show off herself as I will get her back then.

There was a parcel for me today in the post and lucky me it was a Christmas ornament from Linda Benson (Benson Bears).

This is a picture that Linda took before sending it to me.
It has been traveling all the way from Tasmania!
It is the smallest bear I have seen and I am really amazed that she can make bears so small!!!!
She has done a wonderful work and I am so lucky to have it. It is hanging on the best place on the Christmas tree. Thank you so much Linda!!!
Well I am of out to shovel some snow as it snowed all last night. Sigh..
Have a nice day!

Lucia and ginger bread biscuits

The Lucia looked beautiful as ever and it was wonderful to hear the choir sing. We have ( me and the children) been baking some ginger bread biscuits this afternoon. They are so nice and the whole house smells of Christmas now....
Here is a recipe that I have found on the net if you would like to try and bake them.

10–12 decilitre of flour
1/2 tablespoon of bicarbonate
250 gram of butter
1/2 decilitre of cream
3 decilitre of sugar
1 1/2 decilitre of syrup
1 egg
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of ginger
1 teaspoon of grinded clove

This is what you do
1. Mix half of the flour with the bicarbonate in a bowl-
2. Put pat of butter into the bowl and mash it together with a fork to a grainy dough.
3. Whip the cream and knead it into the dough.
4. Mix together the rest of the ingredients into the bowl.
5. Knead the dough with the rest of the flower (save some for the baking)
6. Place the dough inside a plastic film and place it inside the fridge until the next day.
7. The day after you take half the dough and knead the dough soft together with some flower.
8. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until its 3–5 millimetre thick.
9. Use gingerbread moulds to shape the gingerbread biscuits. If you don’t have gingerbread moulds you can use a glass that is turned upside down and that way make round biscuits. Not as fun as a heart, an elk or a Moomintroll but it works.
10. Place the biscuits on a buttered baking tray.
11. Put the baking tray in the oven at 175–200 degrees Celsius for about 5–7 minutes. Take them out while they are still yellow and soft. Enjoy them with a big glass of cold milk… the once you don’t give away, that is…

Have a nice Sunday!

3:e Avent and.... she comes.....Lucia

She wakes up early on the 13th of December. This is the day when she is going to be the Lucia and she will dress up in a special white dress with a red lace around her waist.
She puts on the crown of candels and begins her round to sing to a lot of people. Behind her the girls and boys starts to walk slowly after her. They too have white dresses but without the crown. They sing with her about Christmas and this is the beginning of the beautiful holiday.

Many years ago there was a believe that this was a very dangerous night with a lot of supernatural forces out. You used to believe that the animals could talk during the Lucia night. Because of this a lot of people stayed in and were too afraid to go out.

It is so nice to hear and see the Lucia and this is something that is special to Sweden. Even if it is Lucia today we can´t forget to light the 3rd candle.

I hope you will all have a wonderful Sunday. Myself I am off to see the Lucia and listen to her voice singing about Christmas.

Many Hugs

2:a Advent

It is the 2:a of Advent today and it is getting closer to Christmas. I have bought some of the presents already but I am still not done. I am that kind of person that want it to be done in advance. I can´t imagine running around the last days before Christmas trying to get everything. I would like to have bought all the gifts in November if I could but that never happens....
Anyway I hope that you all have a wonderful Sunday.

Thursday, 3 December 2009

December is here and we have light the first of four candles before Christmas, we do that when it is 4 Sundays before Christmas Eve.

Everthing is going so fast now in this month and there are so much to do. I have started to put some decorations up but there are going to be so much more before I am done...
We have not got any snow yet, but it is so cold that it could snow if it wanted to. For me it can wait until Christmas Eve but all the children wants it now...;0)

An other thing that I am SO HAPPY about is that I am featured in a dutch magazine! Yaahhhyy!!!
It is the "Poppen & Teddy- Beer" magazine nr. 86 from Holland. The editor for the magazine contacted me some time ago and asked to do an articel and I got my issue yesterday and I am so pleased with it. A big thank you to Nico!
Well, I have to get back to do some more bears and get a cup of tea....
Have a nice day!

Thursday, 26 November 2009

I have created a new little girl called Annabelle.

Can you tell that I have been inspired by December and everything that comes with this month?

She is really lovely in her bright red colour. She has got a scarf around her neck and there are some red, green and white colours in it. It is tied together with some white roses.
I hope you like her and if you would like to adopt her, just send me an email.

I would like to ad, that after a second look, Annabelle looks a bit orange in the photo..and I just want to let you all know that her colour is RED and not anything else. She was a bit tricky to take a photo of.....
Have a super day!

I hope that you will like her and if you are intersted in adopting her just send me an email.

Soon.. ( I hope)

The days have gone fast since I wrote last. I have been working on a new bear that is going to have it´s debute soon and some Christmas ornaments as well.
They turned out really good so I hope that you will like them.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I look forward to it so much. But as every year there are a million( well, it feel´s like it) things to do before Christmas Eve. And I stress a (little) to have everything perfect and done... that is not really what Christmas is about but do you know what I mean? Do you stress too?

Anyhow all I am waiting for now is some sun so I can take the photos. The weather has been so grey and gloomy lately and there have been so much rain. Sigh....

So please be patient and I will do my best and speak to the weather gods for some sun now.
Have a niceday!

Thursday, 5 November 2009

It was wonderful!

Well, I am back again and did we have a nice time???? YES!!!!!
As you probarbly know me and my husband went to a spa a bit up in Sweden. It took about 2 hours to drive there but the time went fast. We arrived at 4 o´clock yesterday and I couldn´t wait to get in the water...
It was so nice and warm and not too many people either. I like swiming and I think I did it for an hour...or more....Then we had a drink next to the pool and it was relaxing just sitting there doing nothing.
We had a nice dinner in the evening and we dressed up and it felt special doing that. (We don´t get out very often LOL). But the food was lovely and they even played live music in the backround.
Today in the morning we had a massage and I loved it! After that we walked on the beach as the spa is located on a beach. The wind was cold but it was still really nice!
Then we went to the pool to swim some more before it was time to drive home again, even though I could have stayed problem!

I enjoyed this weekend so much and going to the spa was everything I hoped for. I am all relaxed now and I feel so good!
Our children were happy to see us again and they have now decided that next they are coming as well!!!!!

Friday, 30 October 2009

I am away...

But I wish you all a Happy Halloween!!!

I am away all weekend and I will not be able to answere any emails until Sunday evening.

Almost done!

Well, what has happened since last time???
I have been working on a little girl that is almost ready and she will go on my website. I really love the colour on her and I can´t wait to show her to you all.

We have booked the spa and we are going there next weekend and we are staying there over night. YYhhheee, I can´t wait!!!!

I feel that I have to put a higher gear in now to get things done before christmas. So I have to stay focus now on my bears and not be distract by the computer. When I go on it I can stay a BIT too long and that is not good.
So....I will get back to work now and I will post a photo of the new bear as soon as she is ready.
Have a super weekend!

Planning for next year...

OOooohhh, time is really just flying by!!!
I have been thinking about next year the last week, trying to schedule the shows. And it looks good at the moment.
I will be doing two shows in February one in May and then an othere one in November.
I haven´t got all the exact dates yet but as soon as I know I will put it here on my blog.

As you see I am only doing the Hugglets show(UK) in February next year. I feel that I won´t have the time to do more shows then what I have planed now.
But don´t get me wrong: I love to do shows! But I need the time as well to make the bears and sometimes I don´t have as much time as I would like to have....

So the Hugglets show is the only one that I am going to visit the rest is online shows.
But I am looking forward to every single one of them and slowly starting to prepare for the first one.
I hope you will join me on the shows and if you are going to visit the Hugglets show next year..... I look forward to see you there!

Tuesday, 13 October 2009

The weater is really cold now and there are lots of colour changes in the woods. It is so nice to see all the colours on the leaves and plants.
But the warm coats must come on and one must not forget to put the cloves and hats on too....bbbhhhrr
I suppous that it can be cosy when it turns cold and that you can light all your candles in the house. It is a big romantic factor and I for one likes it. But as you know I do miss the summer and the warm wind and it will be many month before I will feel it again.
But for now I am really enjoying the colours I can see in the nature.

How does there mind work?

Some weeks ago my husband decided that we should go to a spa futher up in Sweden. I was so happy about it as I have never been to a spa before, but always wanted to go to one.
So we decided that as soon as I have a weekend off from work we where going there and treat ourself. I haven´t stopped thinking about it since I found out that we were going, I am all excitied...

Some days ago when we where out with the dog in the evening he said: -Shouldn´t we take the children as well to the spa? I looked at him and couldn´t say anything for 10 seconds... Then I said: -Are you out of your mind????? Take the children as well???
Don´t you understand that this is our time together (we don´t get this very often)...
This is MY(our) time to relax, thinking about ME(us), for once!...????
I think that he understood as I haven´t heard anymore about it...LOL

Am I being selfish???? I don´t want to be, I just want some ME time...

Let me present: Jasper

I really like the way he turned out and the colours on him are absolute wonderful. He wears a necklace made of Silver with a ghost and he likes to play Trick or Treat. But the necklace can easily be taking off if you would like to do so.
If you are interested in adopting him then have a look on my website, you can read more there.
He has got a lower adopting fee!!!!!
Hope that you like him!

I am here again...

I am back! With lots of new energy and feeling much better...
So, I have started with doing some changes on my blog. What do you think? I am not sure if it is too dark and maybe you will see some changes again. I don´t stop until I am completly happy with it. :0)
So what else has happened?
Well, I have worked on a bear that I will put on my website and blog. I am very happy with him and he will have a lower adopting fee...!!!!

I have been working on a prim bear as well, it feels like forever but at last she nearly finished now. I feelt that I wanted to do something completly different from my bears so I would be very happy to have some feedback when you see her....I just have to do her a dress and put the legs on her. So please be patient....

I have 2 bears that is going to travel to a shop around the world, not all done but I am getting there.
I will put some pictures of them as soon as I can here.
And there are more bags to be done too, so you see I haven´t been all relaxing!
I will try and take the photo of the bear that will have the lower adopting fee later. The weather has not been good at all for so long now. Over the weekend we a storm and with that it came a lot of rain, so I am hoping for some sun today. Fingers crossed!
Until then...

Lots of hugs

Wednesday, 23 September 2009

I am sorry that I haven´t been writing more since I got back from London. I have been busy finishing some bears and I had an order for my bags to do after my trip.
But I am getting there and I feel that I need to take things a bit slowly now. It was a mad time before Hugglets so I need a break. So forgive me if I am a bit quiet, I do hope that you understand.
But I will be back soon with lots of new energy, promise.

Tuesday, 15 September 2009

I am back!

I had an amazing time in London!!!!!The weather on the Saturday was so warm and wonderful. I arrived in London at noon and after being at the hotel we (me and my mum) went out to see the shops and Picadilly Circus. We got a glimt of the Palace of Westminster too. We were pretty tired in the evening so it was an "early" night that day.

In the morning of the BIG day I was starting to get a bit nervous and I usually don´t get like that...But the day went so well and I spoke to a lot of artist and collectors. It is really my favorite day of the year!!!!
I had a bit of unluck as the lamp that I was going to put on the table got broken on the flight to England. I got a bit worried that it would look a bit too "dark" but there wasn´t much I could do about it...:0(

A lot of my bears found new homes and some bears went to Abracadabra bears of England and some to a shop in Japan. It was so nice to see everybody and I did my best to go around and see the most of you. But at the same time you don´t want to be gone from your table too long...
So if I didn´t see you or missed you at the show, sorry.

I want to say a big thank you to everybody that adopted a bear or two and thank you for all the nice comments. It really makes me so happy to hear it and I appreciate it so much!
More good new is that I have been contacted by a magazine from Holland that wants to do an articel about me and my bears. Happy dance here....

I will post more about it later.
Have a nice day and once again thank everybody!

Friday, 11 September 2009

All done

PPhhuuu, I manged to do everything I needed to do and everything is packed. I hope that I haven´t forgot anything though. It is going to an early morning tomorrow as the plan goes from Copenhagen, Denmark.

I won´t be back until late evening on Monday so I can´t answere any emails until Tuesday. But I will tell you all about Hugglets then...
I want to say a big "thank you" to everybody that has left comments on my blog and sent me emails.

Thursday, 10 September 2009

I am an orginized person that likes to have everything done in advance. Like being in control but NOT a control freak! So why am I still running around to get everything finished before I go? My plan was to have everything done before today so I could relax a little....That plan is gone!!!!

There are so many things to do so I feel that I have to stay up late tonight. There has been a lot happing this week, like work, and then there has been parent meeting at school etc. So it hasn´t just been teddy bear things.
Well, enough for now, I have to get back to finishing everything. You will know tomorrow if I did everything in time or not....;0)

Sunday, 6 September 2009

Thank you!

The online show " who is who in bearmaking" is coming to an end soon and I would like to say a Thank you to all that have send me an email and adopted a BearMeToo bear!!!

Well, I have to finish everything off for the show in London next Sunday. It is going to be so exciting to go over to London.
Again thank you!

The last bear for Hugglets

This is the last bear that I have done for the Hugglets Show. I am so pleased with the way he came out, he is absolute one of my favorites. The photo came out well too as I took the photo yesterday when the sun was out.

Today it is cloudy and the rain is coming down, this means that the summer is over for this year and autumn is here.
You can really see the changes in the trees and feel that the air is different. The days are starting to become shorter as well and it is darker longer in the mornings...
I always feel a bit sad thinking that the summer is over, don´t know why, maybe because winter is so long here. And I am not that keen of the winter! Well that is just the way things are but do you feel the same when the weather changes?

Enough about that and positive thinking!!!!!I have decided that this bear is going to be one out of two. I have never done a bear before that is two the same but I am so happy with this chap that I will do it with him.
I am glad that all the bears are done so I can start to concentrat on my bags now.
So many thing to do before Hugglets but I hope that I will have one or two days to relax before I get on the plan....

Sunday, 30 August 2009

The girls...

Here are the two girls I was taking about is the other post. They are the latest ones I have done for the show in London. The photos are not that good really, the weather has not improved much. But I hope you like them, they are really girlie bears....

Saturday, 29 August 2009

Two more girls for Hugglets

I have finished two more teddy bears for the HUGGLETS SHOW. I wish I could show them to you right now but it is raining outside today so I can´t take any photos so you have to be patient. I am working on the last bear at moment for the show, after that there are some bags to be done. And then after that I am doing my bussiness cards, I like to do them myself.
So there are still things to do even though the bears are done(almost).
I can´t beleive that the online show is next weekend and then after that it is time to go to London. But it is going to be fun and I hope that you have marked your calender for both events....
Have a nice weekend!

Busy, busy...

Ooohhh, it has almost been a whole week since I posted last!! Time is really flying by for me at the moment! So many things are happening this week. I do have the week of from work so my plan was to make bears....
Well, that changed quite quickly.
I went to a concert in Malmö earlier in the week and I have been to a festival too, very nice.
It is my mums bithday this week, and it is a big party as she is turning even.
So my dad is coming to stay, he lives in Holland, and my brother is coming down from Norway where he works. And where is the party going to be??? Yes at my place as that is biggest. So that means cleaning, shopping and organising every thing.
So you have to forgive me for not writing recently.
But I will put my preview for the Hugglets Show up soon. I think it will be next week.
So until next time...
Have a nice weekend!

15 years...

Today me and my husband has been married for 15 years. Yes, I know that is a very long time and my husbands answer to this is: I would have got less time for murder....He was just joking and it was quite funny.
We met when we were both on holiday with our friends on Corfu back in 1993. He spotted me on the beach his first day down there( I was there 2 days before him). And we meet again later that night... He came up to me and started to talk and we spent all the days together after that. Three days after meeting he asked me the BIG question and my answer was yes.
I went home after that not knowing if I would ever see him again and he was there for another week. When he got home to England he got on the phone and phoned me and I went ove to see him again. And from that we have been together all the time. AAAAHHHHhhhhh.....

Old looking bear

I have grown a love for antique bears and old things. It started about 6 months ago and gradually I have feelt that I want to do a bear that is a bit old looking...
I really like old pictures and scrap booking that you can do so it looks "old".
So, I have been sewing a prototype and finally I am very satisfied with the way it looks. I have only been working on the head so I have still the body to do.
But it is fun and a bit different from what I normally do, with my needle felted faces.
Hopefully I will have at least one ready when it is time to go over to the Hugglets fair. It feels like the more I have to do the more fun I have doing it. Does this make any sense at all???????
I mean I have enough doing the bears for the two shows coming up but still I am working on this new bear....
Well, when it is time for the old looking bear to make it´s debut you will have to tell me if you like him/ her or not.(please)
For now, have a nice evening!

I am working really hard to finnish all the bears that are going with me to the Hugglets Show in London. I love this show so much and it is sooo exciting to go there every time. To see all the lovely teddy bears and all the mohair you can buy....
And of course to meet all the poeple that are there, it is such a friendly atmospher.
I love when some one comes up to me and talks about bears as there are not many here where I live I can tell you...
The bear industry hardly exist in Sweden and that is such a shame I think. People doesn´t know what they are missing here, hi, hi...
Well I have to get back to my bears so please have a nice evening!

My holiday...

As I told you in the earlier post I have been on holiday in England. You might know all ready that my husband is English so we went to visit his parents and the rest of the family. I really love England and I feel like at home when ever we go there. So we had a really nice time and we did a lot too (well if I can include shopping in that?).... And NO my husband doesn´t like it!

I love to do shopping in England, the shops has a lot more to choose between so it is more fun then in Sweden. The shops that I like the best is Next and Monsoon and they both had a sale on!!! Lucky me!!
I have never been to the Next sale before and I couldn´t believe that it started 5 in the morning. But I put the alarm on 5.30 and I was there at 6 0´clock all ready to put my hands on some nice things.
And I did too, a nice jacket and a handbag, a woman can never have to many handbags...
Isn´t that so???

Shopping wasn´t all we did, we went to the Twycross Zoo and a park called Coombe Abbey. It was so nice there and of course I forgot my camera so I can´t show you any pictures, sorry.....
But we had a nice day at both places and we were very lucky with the weather. It was rain most days but those days we did see the sun!

I bought some new mohair as well so I have to start sewing now after this break. Well it is back to work again on Monday for me but I will keep you posted as there are two big shows coming up soon.....
I hope you will have a nice Sunday!

I am back!

I haven´t been posting for some time now because I have been on holiday. But I am back now and I will tell you all about it as soon as I have unpacked and done some washing. I feel that I have to sort it out first as it is soooo much.
But I promise I will be back on the computer later today.

Teddy Bear Times!

I was asked by editor Kirste McCool some time ago if she could do an artist profile of me and my bears in the English magazine Teddy Bear Times...
Who would say no to that?? NOT ME!!! I was over the moon that she wanted to do a profile, and I am now in the latest issue 183. I know that the magazine isn´t out in the shops yet but those of you that subscribe to the i-mag has proberbly read it.

I am so happy to cover 5 pages and I hope that you enjoy reading it.
There are some of my Teddy bears too in the Hugglets preview pages but there will be more preview pictures of them later here on my blog. I am not sure just yet WHEN I will put the pictures up so you will have to come back and see. September is coming fast and there are still so much to do I just hope I will finnish everything in time.

As you know there will be a show on the 5-6th of September: Who is who in Bearmaking so please mark your calender for that....
Have a great week!

Joshua is here!

Let me show you my latest creation!!! His name is Joshua and he is a new design with an opened mouth...

I am very happy with my new design and I hope you like him too.

Joshua is wearing a scarf made of linen that is old a wrinkled... and his feet has been needle schulpted.

Joshua is filled with plastic pellets in his tummy to give him that nice weight. The rest of his body is filled with heavy weight polyester.
You can get his details on my website if you are intersted in Joshua.

Ven, a beautiful island!

I went with my family to this beautiful island called Ven and it is located between Sweden and Denmark. It only takes about 30 minutes with the boat and the only way you can get round the island is on a bike.

The weather is ssssooo warm at the moment so going there was such a joy. I absolute love Ven and going on the bikes is so much fun. The water and the nature is breath taking and you can spend days there and still not get bored.

We have been here before but we love to come back every summer and now we are taking about maybe getting a cottage next summer and stay longer than a day.

I hope that you can see from the photos how nice it is here and the water is all blue and green.

I only have a day left now to work and after that I have 3 weeks holiday. With it being so warm I have to focus on making bears and September is going to be here sooner then I want, aaahhh...

Well I think I will have time to relax a little and still make bears. The summer in Sweden isn´t that long so I have to enjoy the most of that too....
